What is Arbaeen?

Arbaeen marks the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and is one of the largest annual peaceful gatherings in the world. Every year, millions of pilgrims travel to Karbala, Iraq, many walking from cities such as Najaf to honour Imam Hussain (AS) and the sacrifices made at the Battle of Karbala.

The Arbaeen pilgrimage begins from the 1st of Safar, with many pilgrims starting their journey throughout the month, while Arbaeen falls on the 20th of Safar.

As the pilgrimage takes place during the warmer months, temperatures in Iraq can become extremely hot. We recommend choosing lightweight, breathable clothing and planning ahead to ensure your essentials arrive before you travel.

Arbaeen orders will be prioritised wherever possible.

If you are travelling to Iraq for Arbaeen, please email us with your departure date after placing your order so we can do our best to have your order ready before you fly.

We recommend ordering as early as possible, especially for made-to-order embroidered items.
